PIANO LESSONS FOR ADULTS
IN VIENNA

“ If you achieve all your goals, you have probably set them too low. ”
Herbert von Karajan (1908 - 1989)
It's never too late to start or start again.
Many adults ask themselves whether it's still possible to learn the piano as they get older. The answer is yes! Since adults' cognitive thinking is much more developed than children's, they can learn to read music much more quickly. Children, on the other hand, are generally more open-minded than adults when it comes to their motor skills. It's also been scientifically proven that you can achieve a lot on the piano even as an adult. It's important for both adults and children to invest time regularly, because learning happens primarily through regular repetition of movements – this is the only way to gain the necessary confidence on the keys.
This means that even as an adult, it's entirely possible to learn your favorite pieces in a short amount of time. However, the pace is ultimately up to you—depending on how much time you can invest. Whether classical or pop, the lessons are tailored to your needs. If you'd like, you can also participate in our popular semester concerts and experience what it's like to play in a real concert hall!
In this video, you'll see what an adult can achieve on the piano in one year—with 700 hours of practice! That's a lot, of course, equating to about two hours a day. But even with 20-30 minutes a day, you'll make considerable progress, though it will, of course, take a little longer. In addition to the time you're willing to invest, your previous experience, your enthusiasm for the instrument, and, last but not least, the qualifications of your teacher also play a role. "Leon is a very patient, pleasant, humorous and experienced piano teacher. He has a very extensive musical knowledge and is able to pass this on to the student in a simple and understandable way. I felt comfortable from the very first lesson. He gave space to my concerns and goals and showed me suitable exercises with ease, which helped me a lot. "My son Theo (6 years old) has been taking lessons with Michaela since October 2019. With her fun and motivating manner, she has not only strengthened his love of music, but has actually taught him to play the piano in a playful way in a very short time. Her always positive demeanor means that even difficult topics can be tackled without overwhelming him. Fun and enjoyment of music are the main focus."
